Musician, singer, entertainer, actor, writer, London tour guide and lecturer.
Studied film and television production at West Surrey College of Art and Design 1971 - 74.
Born in Aldershot on 23rd. March 1954, Mike began his professional show business career in 1979, working solo and in various duos and bands. (Instruments played; guitar, banjo, ukulele, harmonica, mandolin.)
In 2000, he was a founder member of the multi instrumental comedy combo The London Philharmonic Skiffle Orchestra, working internationally at festivals and theatres all over Northern Europe.
He has also specialized in themed events and musical styles such as American Country Roots, traditional Irish and Blues.
For many years he was a freelance contributor of articles and reviewer of shows for the Stage Newspaper.
He is also a serious historian, specializing in particular periods, especially the Old American West.
To date he has had three books published, on highly diverse subjects... NODDIES "The Film Extra's Guide" (Arlon 1997), FROM CROCKETT TO CUSTER (Trafford 2004) and his father's biography BE LUCKY "The Story of George Martin, The Casual Comedian" (MGM9 Publishing 2012).
He has held the office of Scribe Rat numerous times and was awarded Rat of the Year by King Rat Rick Wakeman in 2015.
In 2013 he became the GOWR's Secretary to the Trustee.
