Rat Register Number: 794. Initiated on 3 March 1996.
Rex's father was a genuine Texas Ranger who, on returning to the UK, formed a Wild West Show which featured Rex at an early age.
Discovering a talent for rope spinning and other related skills, Rex turned professional on the variety circuit, touring the USA before RAF service in World War 2.
Joining Ralph Reader's "Gang Show", he honed his craft and returned to full time entertaining as soon as he was "de-mobbed".
Joined by the girl who was to become his life long partner, the act became known as Rex Roper and Billie the Kid. They toured the world playing numerous top venues, alongside reams of quality television work.
In 1992, at Will Rogers' Ranch in Hollywood, Rex won the Gold Award for roping and showmanship
He was a member of the Wild West Arts Club of America.
