Ian Liston

Ian Liston was born on August 4, 1948 in Crosby, Merseyside, England. He was an actor, known forStar Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980),White Nights (1985) andA Bridge Too Far (1977). He died on October 1, 2016 in the UK.

As well as playing Wedge's gunner Janson in Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980), Liston also put on the uniform of an AT AT Driver for the battle same sequence. In effect, he can be seen shooting himself down.

A fine actor and performer, Ian was the founder, producer and director of the 'Hiss & Boo Company', appearing in over 3,000 of their Music Hall productions as Mr Chairman.

He was also the original producer of the stage play 'Cluedo' and the first to bring 'The Mr Men' to the stage. Hiss & Boo?s other major West End theatre credits include 'Groucho (A Life in Revue)', 'The Last of The Red Hot Lovers' and 'Corpse'.

On British television he became a household name playing the character Ron Barlow in 'Crossroads' for nearly a decade, plus the character Hero in the BBC?s 'Dr Who'.

As a result of his own ongoing health problems, Ian was also a stalwart supporter and advocate of prostate cancer research.
