Born Armando Greco in Philadelphia, USA, Buddy joined the Benny Goodman Orchestra aged 16 and toured with them for 4 years.
He then founded a solo career as a singer and pianist mainly in the jazz idiom, although he covered many other musical styles too, recording over 60 albums.
His best known hit was his distinctive version of The Lady is a Tramp, but he also did a great deal of film and T.V. work as well as concerts worldwide.
Well ensconced in the Las Vegas scene, he was on the periphery of Frank Sinatra?s infamous Rat Pack.
Married 5 times and producing 7 children, his last wife was singer Lesley Anders.
