BIOGRAPHY
Tim Healy is one of Britain’s most recognisable and well-loved actors, known for his gritty charm, comic timing, and heartfelt performances across television, stage, and film. Hailing from Newcastle upon Tyne, Tim first trained at the Northern Arts School before going on to become a household name.
He shot to fame in the 1980s as Dennis Patterson in the hit comedy-drama Auf Wiedersehen, Pet, a series that became a defining moment in British TV history. His performance struck a perfect balance of humour and pathos, and Tim quickly became a fan favourite.
Since then, his credits have been extensive and varied, including leading roles in Benidorm (as the unforgettable cross-dressing Les/Lesley), Still Open All Hours, Heartbeat, Common as Muck, Waterloo Road, and Coronation Street. Whether in comedy or drama, Tim brings an authenticity and warmth that few can match.
Away from the screen, Tim is a champion of live theatre and variety, with strong roots in the working men’s clubs and northern touring circuits where he first cut his teeth. He remains a passionate advocate for the performing arts and regional talent, never forgetting where he came from.
As a proud member of the Grand Order of Water Rats, Tim brings heart, humour, and humility to the Brotherhood. Fiercely loyal and generous by nature, he’s as comfortable raising money for charity as he is raising a laugh — a true Brother Rat and a credit to the profession.
