BIOGRAPHY
Sean “Rollo” Rollason started his career in 1987 as a clown touring the UK with one of Britain’s largest circuses. Since then, he has worked as a children’s entertainer, entertainment manager, compere and comedian.
Rollo, (previously known as “Reggie Mental”) has been a comedian for over 30 years and has appeared in cabaret & Summer seasons at venues all over the UK & appeared as midnight cabaret for the British holiday makers in Benidorm. His career as a comedy entertainer was forged touring the working men’s clubs of the Midlands and Military barracks where he performed for the Officers in the “mess” and even the “squaddies'” wives!
Daunting audiences for any entertainer, but it was there that he worked and perfected his act, developing it for theatre audiences. He has performed at Haven, Parkdean, Potters Leisure and Richardson’s holiday parks, Warner Leisure hotels and many corporate events. He has toured with many variety shows and appeared in theatres across the UK, including Cromer Pier, Doncaster Dome, Saltburn Theatre, Gorleston Pavilion, Joe Longthorne Theatre, Blackpool, Princess Theatre, Hunstanton, Maltings, Ely and Brighton Dome Theatre, to name but a few. His act is still a regular favourite on the Warner hotel cabaret circuit in the U.K.
Sean’s real love is pantomime, and he has over twenty-five panto seasons under his belt playing most comedy roles, appearing in panto alongside a diverse list of stars from Dora Bryan and Maureen Nolan to Sooty & Sweep, Postman Pat and Gladiators Rebel and Ace!
In 2024, “Rollo” was added to the “Pantomime Hall of Fame”, which is run by the Panto’ Archive and supported by Crossroads Pantomimes. Previous recipients include Christopher Biggins, The Krankies & Sue Pollard.
Rollo is a very popular children’s entertainer, performing children’s magic and “Punch & Judy” shows nationwide. He is also part of a comedy double act with his son, Water Rat Tommy J.
Sean became a Water Rat in 2007 and, in 2009, was voted ’Rat of the Year’.
