Peter Polycarpou (born 6 March 1957) is a British actor and singer, known for his extensive work in theatre, television, and film. Born in Brighton and of Cypriot heritage, he trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama before establishing a career on stage.
He is particularly recognised for his work in musical theatre, originating the role of John in the original London production of Miss Saigon. His stage career includes performances in major West End productions such as Les Misérables, Phantom of the Opera, and Jesus Christ Superstar, demonstrating a wide range across both musical and dramatic roles.
Polycarpou has also built a strong reputation in straight theatre, appearing in productions at leading venues including the National Theatre and the Royal Court. His performances have earned critical recognition, including an Olivier Award nomination for his role in Working.
Alongside his stage work, he has appeared in numerous television productions, including Casualty, Holby City, and The Bill, as well as film roles. His versatility has allowed him to maintain a consistent presence across multiple areas of the industry.
