MICHAEL FENTON STEVENS

BIOGRAPHY

Michael Fenton Stevens is a versatile actor, comedian and voice artist with a career spanning stage, radio and television. With a distinctive voice, razor-sharp comic timing and a flair for both satire and straight performance, he has become a familiar presence in British comedy and entertainment for over four decades.

Michael first came to prominence as a founding member of the
Radio Active team on BBC Radio 4, a satirical sketch show that later transferred to television as KYTV. From there, he built a prolific career in comedy and drama, appearing in iconic series such as My Family, Benidorm, One Foot in the Grave, Nighty Night, The Office, The Thick of It and Doctor Who.

On stage, Michael has shown the same versatility, recently taking on the role of
The Wizard in the West End production of Wicked at London’s Apollo Victoria Theatre. His performance has added a fresh charm to the beloved musical, and he is set to remain in the role until December 2024.

He’s also one of the most in-demand voice artists in the industry, with countless credits across radio, audiobooks, animation and advertising. His adaptability and rich vocal characterisation have made him a favourite among producers and audiences alike.

Michael is well known as the voice of Sir Henry in the satirical musical group
The Hee Bee Gee Bees, whose parody single Meaningless Songs (In Very High Voices) became a cult comedy hit in the 1980s.

In recent years, he has reached new audiences with his successful podcast
My Time Capsule, where guests share five things they’d like to preserve—four to keep, and one to forget. With warmth, wit and thoughtful questions, Michael continues to show why he remains a respected and much-loved figure in British entertainment.

A proud Water Rat, Michael brings humour, heart and professionalism to everything he does, whether it’s a stage, a studio, or a spell in the Emerald City.
