JIMMY TARBUCK OBE

BIOGRAPHY

Jimmy first made a name for himself as a standup comic in the 1960s, his big break saw him perform at the London Palladium in 1963. A year later, he hosted his own ITV show, “It’s Tarbuck ’65!”
Jimmy also began to host Sunday Night at the London Palladium.

Not only one of the country’s top comedian’s he became a popular host of quiz shows, including “Tarby’s Frame Game”, “Winner Takes All” and “Full Swing”.
As his career progressed, he continued to stay true to his origins in comedy.

With countless sell-out summer seasons and a number of variety shows and comedy events, including “Live at the Piccadilly” and “Live from Her Majesty’s”.
He was also a regular feature as part of the Royal Variety Performance.

He was subject to a two-hour special “This is Your Life” and, of course, his “An Audience with” show was one of TV’s highlights. he also had a part in the legendary film “The Plank” and had his own TV series “The Jimmy Tarbuck Show”.
His popular chat show “Tarby and Friends” ran for several years and had huge guests, including Barry Manilow, Shirley Bassey and of course his pal Cilla.

In 2016, he took his comedy show across the country, teaming up with fellow comedy legend Des O’Connor. Together, the comedy duo toured an array of notable venues.
He has since toured with his showbiz pal Kenny Lynch and most recently sold-out theatres with “An Evening with Jimmy Tarbuck” Show.
He was an awarded an OBE in 1994 and is a past recipient of the GOWR lifetime achievement award
