
BIOGRAPHY
Jimmy Osmond, born James Arthur Osmond on 16 April 1963 in California, is the youngest member of the legendary Osmond family. A global performer from a tender age, he entered the Guinness Book of World Records in 1972 as the youngest artist to score a UK number one single with Long Haired Lover from Liverpool, a Christmas classic that topped the charts when he was just nine years old.
He holds six gold records, one platinum record and two gold albums from his solo work. In addition to pop stardom, Jimmy expanded into musical theatre, topping live tours in productions like Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Boogie Nights and pantomimes such as Cinderella and Aladdin.
On screen, he starred in Bugsy Malone in 1976, acted in multiple TV series, including Fame and The Love Boat, and appeared on reality shows like I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, Celebrity MasterChef and Popstar to Operastar.
Behind the scenes, Jimmy developed his role as a producer and entrepreneur. He led Osmond Entertainment, oversaw merchandising and produced programming for networks such as ABC, PBS, the BBC and Disney. In 2014, he took over the Andy Williams Performing Arts Centre in Branson, and the following year, Iowa Wesleyan University awarded him an honorary Doctorate of Arts and Humanities.
He was formally welcomed into the Grand Order of Water Rats as Water Rat No. 483, a testament to his longevity and dedication to the entertainment fraternity.
As of 2024, he’s enjoying retirement, involved with family, business ventures, charitable work and mentoring emerging talent.
