IAN TOUGH

BIOGRAPHY

Comedian, Actor, Writer – One Half of The Krankies
Ian Tough is best known as one half of the legendary Scottish comedy duo
The Krankies, alongside his wife, Janette. With a career spanning over five decades, The Krankies became a household name through their iconic performances on television, stage, and pantomime. Ian’s sharp wit and impeccable comic timing have delighted generations of audiences, from their early club circuit days to starring roles on Crackerjack and sell-out pantomime runs.
Beyond their comic creations, Ian has contributed to British entertainment as a writer and performer, helping shape family comedy throughout the 1980s and beyond. A proud Water Rat, Ian continues to support the fraternity with humour, humility, and the same infectious energy that made “Fan-dabi-dozi” a national catchphrase.
