DEC CLUSKEY
BIOGRAPHY
Dec Cluskey is a true legend of the music world – a man whose stories don’t just appear in music history books... they are music history. Alongside his brother Con, Dec founded The Bachelors before the fall of the Roman Empire – or at least that's how long he's been lighting up stages and airwaves. In reality, The Bachelors exploded onto the scene in the 1960s and famously outsold The Beatles in both 1964 and 1965 – no small feat for an Irish harmony group.
He’s one of the rare few who can say they’ve performed for millions on television – including the biggest TV audience ever at The London Palladium – and one of even fewer who’ve recorded a special version of “I Believe” for the Pope himself.
From sold-out world tours to gold records in 2008, Dec has never slowed down. His colourful career is documented in places you wouldn’t expect: The Kray Brothers’ books, Sharon Osbourne’s best-seller ‘Extreme’, Keith Altham’s music revelations, and Tony Barrow’s accounts of life with The Beatles. Wherever there’s a story worth telling in the music industry, chances are Dec was there or helped start it.
Still touring, still recording, still brimming with stories that only a lifetime in showbusiness could offer, Dec Cluskey remains one of the great musical figures of his generation… and a cherished member of the Water Rats fraternity.
