BIOGRAPHY
Dave started in show business as a keyboard player in the 70s. Drummer Brian Greenaway joined him in 1976, and “Triple Cream” was born. So we celebrate 50 years of Triple Cream next year.
Bassist Mick Harding joined in 1978.
In the early days they backed cabaret artistes in clubs and theatres, in 1984 the group appeared on a TV series – “The Krankies Klub” where they played for all the musical impressions that Bobby Davro did on his weekly spot on the show and then toured all over the UK on the Jim Bowen Bullseye roadshow.
PMR Steve Etherington joined the group on bass and additional keys in 1985-1990, where they were the resident band at Kings Cabaret Club, Canvey Island, where every week top-line TV cabaret artistes such as Tommy Cooper, Michael Barrymore, Chas & Dave performed.
Steve left to pursue other successful avenues and was replaced by Harvey Allen, who still completes the “Triple Cream” line-up.
The comedy impressions are a major part of the “Triple Cream” show and were featured on The Generation Game with Bruce Forsyth.
In 1993, Dave appeared in an episode of the BBC’s “EastEnders” playing the piano in the Queen Vic.
Dave, along with the boys, has worked all over the world, including a year in Bermuda in 1994 and appearances at such prestigious venues as the Blackpool Tower Ballroom, Lakeside and the London Palladium.
Recently Dave has added a new string to our bow with an authentic Chas & Dave tribute show – “Rabbit Rabbit” currently on a theatre tour of the UK.
Dave is currently the Musical Rat and is a member of the GOWR Grand Council.
