BRIAN BURDON - PAST PRINCE RAT

BIOGRAPHY

Actor, comedian, TV presenter, writer, and renowned pantomime dame, Bryan Burdon.

Bryan has appeared in almost every branch of entertainment. He began his Show business career at the age of 12, touring in variety with his father, comedian Albert Burdon, working all the major music halls.
After leaving his father’s act, he joined several repertory companies, gaining experience as an actor in the Theatre. He became a member of the famous “fol de rols” summer Show where he stayed for three seasons sharing the stage with the great Leslie Crowther.

Not only an established actor Bryan went on to work as principal comedian in many summer seasons at all the major seaside resorts.
Acting roles in theatre productions including “Chase me comrade”, “Seagulls over Sorrento”, and the lead role in a West End run of “The strippers” at the Phoenix theatre.

Musical theatre credits include “Hit the Deck”, “Irma La Douce”, the national tour of “Bud and Ches” where he played one of the crazy gang and the premiere of Stephen Sondheim's “Follies”. Bryan was also in the London production of “Sugar Babes” at the Savoy Theatre, where he was understudy to the legendary Mickey Rooney.

Brian has worked in cabaret, theatre, TV and even circus, and his career has taken him all over the world, including Singapore, South Africa, and the United States.

During the Rock' n Roll era, he toured as compere with many big stars, including the great Diana Ross.
His many television appearances include “Danger UXB”, “The gems”, “The secret diary of Adrian mole”, “Emmerdale”, “Hi-De-Hi”, “The Good olde Days”, “The Freddie Starr show”, “Victoria Wood as seen on TV” and “Sunday night at the London Palladium”.
On Kids TV he appeared on “The Sooty Show” and hosted the final two series of “Pinky and Perky”.
Brian is a very popular pantomime performer and wrote and starred in the Theatre Royal Windsor pantomimes for 25 years, as well as appearing as Dame at numerous other venues throughout the UK.

Bryan is a Past Prince Rat.
