BIOGRAPHY
Andrew Van Buren is one of the UK’s leading live entertainers, known for his dynamic stage presence, large-scale illusions and deep roots in traditional variety. A true showman in every sense, he has dedicated his life to performance, continuing a proud family legacy that stretches back generations.
Raised in a show business family, Andrew quite literally grew up in the wings. His father, Fred Van Buren, was a celebrated magician and escapologist, and his mother Greta, performed daring aerial acts across Europe. Andrew followed in their footsteps, but carved his own name in the world of magic and illusion, earning international recognition for his spectacular productions.
From classical magic and circus arts to presenting large-scale arena shows, Andrew has toured the world, performing everywhere from cruise ships and theatres to corporate events and festivals. Whether he’s levitating assistants or orchestrating full-scale productions, he brings a unique blend of skill, elegance and old-school charm to every stage.
Away from the spotlight, Andrew is also a producer and consultant, creating tailored shows for theme parks, heritage venues and major public events. He is a tireless advocate for the preservation of variety and street performance arts, working on campaigns to protect and promote their place in British culture.
As a proud member of the Grand Order of Water Rats, Andrew continues to champion entertainment in all its forms. His generosity, enthusiasm and dedication to live performance make him not only a treasured member of the fraternity, but a key figure in keeping the magic of variety alive for future generations.
